A tranquil and relaxing town, Amamoor projects a fresh and distinctive country experience.

On any day quietness is only broken by the sound of birds whistling and children playing. You can still catch a glimpse of the elusive platypus in the creeks around here, with a special viewing platform well-used at Amama Park just out of town.
If you like bushwalking and the untouched magic of nature, there are numerous tracks of varying lengths at Amama Park, Cedar Grove and at Amamoor Creek State Forest Park, home of the annual Toyota National Country Music Muster. These forests provide an ideal place for a family picnic, or a romantic spot for two, and give visitors the taste of sub-tropical rainforest with a range of ferns, vines, palms, rainforest trees and waterfalls.
If you like heights and panoramic views, there are three lookouts to choose from, and if you have time on your hands, wander down the main street and browse through the craft shop. Don’t forget the array of local products at the railway station shop as well.
If you want the peace and quiet all to yourselves, remember to avoid August when the population swells by 60,000 for the national country music muster.
Want to stay a while? Try Amamoor Homestead for a bit of luxury.
