About Mary Valley Inc:
MVI addresses Community, Business, Tourism & Marketing in the valley.
Aims and objectives:
♦ To be a collective voice for the Mary Valley
♦ To enhance the quality of life in the Mary Valley
♦ To build community partnerships
♦ To develop key partnerships with Local, State and Federal Government
♦ To act as a sub-regional body that can develop and manage projects and funding applications that provide for the greater good and develop the capacity of the Mary Valley communities.
♦ To promote the Mary Valley as a great place to live and visit
♦ To address broad social, economic, environmental and community wellbeing issues
Some of our projects:
Village Renewal Pilot (Imbil): To improve appeal and function of country towns, encouraging people to stay longer and spend more money
Business Profiling Project: Production of a Business Directory. To raise awareness of businesses in the valley and thereby promote “buy local”
Mary Valley Website Project: To develop this website as a major portal for valley communications in all areas of business, community and
tourism and marketing
Business Eco-sustainability Project: To build on the interest in the solar energy and eco-tourism projects and develop a green branding
Skills Sharing Project: To instigate a skills audit in the Mary Valley with a view to creating mentoring links for businesses; establish interactive jobs board on the Mary Valley website
Aged Care: To identify ways to enrich and improve the lives of the elderly in our community, including access to services and subsidies.
Transport: To improve transport services to all sectors of the Mary Valley community, including a project to beautify and upgrade bus shelters.
Mary Valley Tourism Experience: To audit the experience for steam train and self-drive tourists in the valley, with a view to creating extended opportunities.
