Maleny music
The Maleny Music Weekend will be held on April 20-22 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Maleny Folk Festival.
The music and camping weekend will have two indoor venues, a bar, session tent and workshop venue. Entertainment includes concerts, workshops, sessions, poets’ breakfasts and a bush dance.

Theatre buff wants help with plays
If you know any script writers, directors, actors, set and prop designers who are interesting in the 10x10 plays project, send them this email or contact Tony Kishawi on 5408 2556.
10X10 aims to celebrate the shared stories that connect the community, by engaging real people and inviting them to send in a play or write a play or short story. The plays are brought to life on the stage by real people acting in and directing the work in front of a live and local audience.
10x10 is a performance event of ten 10-minute plays at the Heritage Theatre, Gympie's beautiful 400 seat, fly tower, proscenium arch, theatre.
While the 10-minute play performance concept is not new, the purpose of initiating this project is to create a huge a knock-on effect in the wider Gympie community. 10X10 has been inspired by the Heart of Gold film festival's success, both festivals aim is to create an audience and stimulate the local performing arts and visual arts.
During the lead up to this production, Interact drama school is holding courses in Set Design and Stage Management, Theatre and Special Effects Make-up.
These courses will help those interested in seeking these skills to utilize them "on the job".

The grant writing masterclass will be focussed on completing submissions for the Australian Government's Community Action Grants program.
The funding program is targeted at community landcare, bushcare, NRM, environment, conservation and sustainable agriculture groups and will fund on-ground works as well as community awareness and capacity building activities.
The cost for attendance is $250 per person (GST inc).
